Green Songs and Poetry: It's (Sometimes) A Long Way Down to Brighton

It's (Sometimes) A Long Way Down to Brighton (can be sung to the tune of 'It's A Long Way to Tipperary')

Down to beautiful Brighton
Came did I one day,
To help Caroline keep
The Establishment at bay,
I stood on the Pavilion to watch over old Kemptown,
And knew it was to help us bring the Establishment down!

It's a long way down to Brighton,
For some of you ,anyway.
It's a long way down to Brighton,
But sweet Caroline knows the way!
Goodbye, Islington,
Farewell, Trafalgar Square!
It's sometimes a long way down to Brighton,
But my heart's right there!

When I am in Brighton I do call out clear and loud,
To friends in Norwich, Oxford, Solihull and Stroud.
Calling them to spread green messages across Britain every way,
As clearly it is up to us to come and save the day!

It's a long way down to Brighton,
For some of you ,anyway.
It's a long way down to Brighton,
But sweet Caroline knows the way!
Goodbye, Islington,
Farewell, Trafalgar Square!
It's sometimes a long way down to Brighton,
But my heart's right there!

So, my green friends, come often to Brighton and rally,
Miliband's team are onto us; we must not dilly-dally!
So whether you come from far up North or just from Hove,
We must all unite to stop Cameron, Clegg, Cable, and also Gove!

It's a long way down to Brighton,
For some of you ,anyway.
It's a long way down to Brighton,
But sweet Caroline knows the way!
Goodbye, Islington,
Farewell, Trafalgar Square!
It's sometimes a long way down to Brighton,
But my heart's right there!
